WILMINGTON, Del. AstraZeneca has been awarded for its commitment to environmental sustainability practices.
The drug maker was the recipient of the 2010 EcoLeadership Award by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence for the second consecutive year. In 2009, AstraZeneca first identified opportunities to reduce energy use, waste and carbon dioxide emissions by adopting best industry practices.
"AstraZeneca is committed to creating a sustainable future by responsibly managing our environmental footprint and promoting a safe, healthy and energizing work environment for our employees and partners," said Kathy Monday, VP North America operations at AstraZeneca.
The award ceremony took place Tuesday at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.
