New York —Iain Holding, president of Beiersdorf North America, and Joe Magnacca, chief merchandising officer of Duane Reade, were honored in February during the Beyond Beauty dinner benefiting the James E. Marshall OCD Foundation.
The foundation is dedicated to raising money for genetic research and education, as well as helping to provide grants to those seeking medical assistance for obsessive-compulsive disorder. It is estimated that 6 million Americans are affected by OCD.
The event was held on Feb. 4 at the Union League Club in Manhattan, bringing together cosmetic industry heads to honor those who’ve made a difference and to raise funds for research. In 2005, the James E. Marshall OCD Foundation hosted its first Beyond Beauty Gala in New York City.
In addition to honoring Holding and Magnacca, the event included a performance by singer-songwriter duo Ashford & Simpson, known for such hits as “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Solid.” Serving as the mistress of ceremonies was actress and humanitarian Susan Saint James.
