NEW YORK — The National Advertising Division last week referred to the Federal Trade Commission advertising claims made by Fiore RX, for its Antifungal Nail Lacquer after the company failed to respond to an NAD inquiry.
The company purported its "FDA-registered" ingredients undecylenic Acid and propolis "is the best antifungal nail polish for preventing toenail and finger nail fungus (onychomycosis)."
The advertiser did not respond to NAD’s attempts to contact the company at any of its published addresses or telephone numbers. Based on the advertiser’s failure to respond to NAD’s inquiry, the advertising at issue has been referred to the FTC for further review.
NAD is an investigative unit of the advertising industry’s system of self-regulation. It is administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
