The National Association of Chain Drug Stores has launched a new drive-time radio advertisement in the Washington, D.C., market to warn of the potential consequences of the proposed merger between pharmacy benefit managers Express Scripts and Medco.

Duane Reade is opening at 40 Wall St. on July 6 its 22,000-sq.-ft. flagship store, which has a decided “up market focus” with exclusive services and amenities never seen before in a Duane Reade or any other drug store. Drug Store News got a first look at the store.

What do you get when you cross-pollinate a grocery store, Bed Bath & Beyond and a pharmacy retailer? Prime Essentials Rx. Residents of New York’s Tribeca neighborhood now can check out the new one-stop shop located on Leonard Street and Broadway.

Prime Essentials Rx aims to cater to the urban customer experience by combining the personal customer connection of a neighborhood specialty store with the product selection and delivery of a large “super” store, offering more than 3,000 products on its shelves.

An unprecedented 100-plus vendors presented the latest in healthcare technology earlier this year at the Consumer Electronic Association's show in January.
