Aurobindo intros generics of Truvada, Minocin

The company's latest launches offer generics of a popular HIV and PrEP drug, as well as a common antibiotic.

Aurobindo is launching a generic of Gilead's Truvada, an HIV treatment that also is commonly used as pre-exposure prophylaxis. The company also is introducing its generic of Minocin. 

Aurobindo's emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets are a Truvada generic offered in a dosage strength of 200 mg/300 mg and offer 

Emtricitabine/tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets have a market value of roughly $2.2 billion for the 12 months ended January 2021, according to IQVIA.

The company also is offering minocycline tablets in dosage strengths of 50 mg, 75 mg, and 100 mg. 

The product, indicated to treat various bacterial infections, is the generic of Triax Pharmaceutical’s Minocin tablets.

Minocycline tablets have an estimated market size of $9.4 million for the 12 months ended January 2021, according to IQVIA.
