NEW YORK — It’s no secret that
Korean beauty has quickly become one of the most popular segments in the category, and now one of the biggest names in beauty is making an investment in Korean skin care brand Dr. Jart+. Estée Lauder on Thursday announced that its investment in the company had completed its investment — whose terms were undisclosed — in Dr. Jart+, which has been around since its online launch in 2005.
Dr. Jart+ is based in Seoul and has products in such stores as Sephora around the world. In addition to its interest in that aspect of Dr. Jart+’s business, Estée Lauder also is interested in its Do The Right Thing brand, which is targeted at men and mixes Korean beauty innovation with New York style, the company said.
Currently, Do the Right Thing is sold in Sephora and through BirchboxMan.
