  • GreatCall expands reach with D&H Distributing

    SAN DIEGO — GreatCall announced a new partnership with D&H Distributing, which now will carry GreatCall's line of Jitterbug J cell phones.

    Through the deal, GreatCall's products now will reach 20,000 independent consumer electronics stores nationwide.

  • Gorton's, Ortega get together for the love of fish tacos

    NEW YORK — Two companies have united to address the increasing popularity of fish tacos.

    Gorton's Seafood and Ortega Mexican Food Products, a B&G Foods brand, have teamed up to create a co-branded website and an online food contest. At WeLoveFishTacos.com, fish taco enthusiasts are given the opportunity to show off their favorite recipes by using Gorton's and Ortega products, and can share them on Facebook, Twitter and other social media outlets. As part of its online contest, one finalist will win a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico.

  • iGPS announces agreement with Ken's Foods

    ORLANDO, Fla. — Ken's Foods will utilize all-plastic pallets with embedded radio frequency identification tags developed by Intelligent Global Pooling Systems, iGPS announced.

    Ken's Foods, which produces and packages more than 400 varieties of dressings and sauces, said iGPS' solution aids the company in its sustainability efforts.

  • Kroger recalls pet food due to possible contamination

    CINCINNATI — Kroger recalled select packages of pet food sold in some of its retail stores because the products may contain aflatoxin, a naturally occurring toxic chemical byproduct from the growth of a certain fungus.

    The recall affects Kroger stores in 17 states, as well as Dillons and Gerbes stores in Kansas and Missouri; Baker's stores in Nebraska; Food 4 Less stores in Nebraska, Illinois and Indiana (Chicago area); and Jay C, Hilander, Owen's, Pay Less and Scott's stores in Illinois and Indiana.

  • Crunchmaster expands retail distribution

    LOVES PARK, Ill. — A certified gluten-free crackers brand has gained retail distribution in Walmart Supercenter stores.

    Crunchmaster's original flavor multigrain crisps now are available in 4.5-oz. boxes for a suggested retail price of $2.48. The oven-baked, 100% whole grain crisps are made with a blend of California brown rice and four seeds: sesame, quinoa, flax and amaranth.

    CHICAGO — Tropicana is rolling out a new product for kids.

    Tropicana's Tropolis, a smooth blend of real squeezable fruit that's packed with nutrition and offers 100% of the recommended daily value of vitamin C, is designed to assure kids are consuming enough fruits.

    Tropolis will roll out in select markets late next month.
