BURLINGTON, Vt. — Ben & Jerry’s newest flavor is honoring the legacy of Bob Marley. The company unveiled its One Love flavor in the United States on Thursday, noting that it was concocted through a partnership with the Marley family to pay homage to the late singer.

The company said that a portion of the proceeds from each sold pint of the ice cream — which features banana ice cream with caramel and graham cracker swirls and fudge peace signs — will go to benefit Jamaica’s One Love Youth Camp, which is run by the Bob Marley Foundation and Partners for Youth Empowerment.

“The One Love Youth Camp positively affects youth in Jamaica, providing social and interpersonal tools they can use throughout life,” Ziggy Marley, Bob Marley’s eldest son, said. “The youth are our future and we are thankful for our partnership with Partners for Youth Empowerment and Ben & Jerry’s.”

The flavor was launched in the UK last year, and its U.S. launch and partnership with the Marley family will be celebrated with a  May 22 concert hosted by Ziggy Marley.

“Bob Marley stood for more than just music — he advocated for social change and inspired millions to think about peace, love, and equality,” Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Jerry Greenfield said. “Ben & Jerry’s has long strived to champion love and social justice, and by partnering with the Marley family we’re happy to play a small role in supporting Marley’s vision for a sweeter world.”

The ice cream is available now at scoop shops and retailers nationwide.
