CVS Health this week is reportedly started limiting purchases of rapid, OTC COVID-19 tests, with a maximum of six packages online and four in pharmacies, as demand spreads due to the Delta variant.

CVS Health will require all corporate employees, certain patient-facing workers and pharmacists to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by Nov. 30.

The efforts from pharmacy organizations follow the Food and Drug Administration recently authorizing the first post-exposure prophylaxis for COVID-19 emergency use.

Pfizer-BioNTech’s COVID-19 vaccine Comirnaty will be marketed for the prevention of COVID-19 in individuals age 16 years old and older. 

In a letter to the Biden Administration, the organization conveyed recommendations to help ensure that eligible individuals can efficiently and effectively access additional COVID-19 doses at their local pharmacies.
