Giant Food debuts rebranded home delivery service

10/15/2019

Giant Food has unveiled something new for its shoppers.

The retailer has announced the launch of Giant Delivers, which was formerly known as Peapod by Giant.

This refresh is part of the company’s “The Little Things Are Giant” platform, which focuses on helping consumers save time so they can get back to what matters most, the retailer said.

“Giant has been the trusted neighborhood grocery store for over 80 years, and we are continually looking for new ways to serve our community’s evolving needs and shopping preferences,” Ira Kress, the interim president of Giant Food said. “Building out our eCommerce services, including Giant Delivers and Giant Pickup, lets us truly put the “solution” in meal solutions. We handle the picking and packing, delivering straight to car or doorstep, giving our shoppers that extra helping hand they need.”

Consumers can already begin to see Giant Deliver trucks throughout their neighborhoods, and those existing Peapod by Giant customers will not experience any service interruptions, the company said.

New features part of the rebranded Giant Delivers and Giant Pickup services include an expanded assortment of products, including plant-based foods and global offerings.

Giant Delivers has recently begun same-day delivery within the downtown D.C. area and is available without commitment or subscription.
