GMDC|Retail Tomorrow, International Housewares Association partner on fall meetings

GMDC|Retail Tomorrow is joining forces with the International Housewares Association to facilitate its 2021 Fall Strategic Meetings.

The three-week series of virtual events, tailored for those in the retail and wholesale industries, as well as their supplier and service counterparts, will take place from Sept. 18 to Oct. 15.

Focused on self-care, general merchandise and housewares, attendees of the event will have the opportunity to discuss pressing issues within the industry relating to merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, consumer and shopper insights, omnichannel agility, sales trends and strategies.

“Through more frequent, category-specific events this year, GMDC|Retail Tomorrow continues to identify opportunities for more meaningful connections among existing industry partners and the discovery of new and unexpected partnerships,” Patrick Spear, president and CEO of GMDC|Retail Tomorrow said. “We have seen the selfcare, general merchandise and housewares landscape evolve at a rapid pace throughout the past year, and as this trajectory continues, this event series is an opportunity to address these changes and prepare for more as we approach the latter half of 2021.”

In order to allow attendees flexibility within their schedules, the self-care category meetings will be held from Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, the general merchandise categories will be from Oct. 5 to 8, and the housewares category will take place from Oct. 12 to 15.

“IHA’s mission is to bring buyers and sellers together regardless of format, and we are excited to work again with GMDC|Retail Tomorrow to connect our supplier members with their buyer members during this virtual event,” Derek Miller, IHA president said. “Non-foods is an important and profitable category for grocery retailers, and until the industry gathers again in-person next March at The Inspired Home Show, this type of opportunity delivers the kind of new product and supplier discovery that retailers are craving.”

The event registration deadline for the self-care and general merchandise categories is August 6, and the deadline for housewares is August 20.
