L’Oréal USA is doing its part to aid in the support of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by announcing several initiatives to support outbreak and recovery efforts.

For starters, the company will launch a corporate donation and employee match campaign for Feeding America with a $250,000 donation to support food-insecure families. It also will match additional employee donations dollar for dollar of up to $25,000.

The company’s North American manufacturing facilities will begin production of alcohol-based hand sanitizers that will be provided free of charge to its employees, partners and healthcare professionals working on the front lines.

Personal care and hygiene products in high demand also will be donated to Feed the Children. Products donated will include cleansers and moisturizers, with the total number of products being valued at more than $1 million, the company said.

Surgical and N95 respirator masks used in its operations facilities in North Little Rock, Ark., and Franklin Lakes, N.J., will be donated to local hospitals.

The company also will freeze the payments of very small and small-sized enterprises in its distribution network, including hair salons, until their businesses resume. Payment times for small suppliers most affected also will be shortened, the company said.

“I know I speak for all of my colleagues when I say that we at L'Oréal USA feel a deep responsibility to do our part to help address this crisis in the many communities in which we live and work,” Stéphane Rinderknech, president and CEO of L'Oréal USA and executive vice president of North America, said. “We stand in solidarity with the brave people who are tirelessly and selflessly working to end this pandemic, and it is our hope that, through these actions, we are able to provide some relief during this challenging time.”
