  • Purple Stuff expands retail distribution

    TOMBALL, Texas — A relaxation/focus soda brand has expanded its market reach.

    The Purple Stuff family of beverages has gained retail distribution in 1,264 stores, including convenience stores across the southern United States, according to Funktional Beverages, the brand's manufacturer.

    The sodas, which launched in 2008, are available in Sippin' Citrus, Berry Calming, Classic Grape and Lean Apple flavors.

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores on Monday introduced a smart phone application for its customers that will help them locate the closest Winn-Dixie, allow them to view the weekly circular and sales for that specific store, and create and manage shopping lists that both sync with computers and can be shared with other users.

  • Combe unloads cough-cold, skin care and foot care portfolios

    WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — Reckitt Benckiser on Monday supplemented its Mucinex and Delsym cough-cold portfolio with the addition of Cepacol from Combe.

    Combe also announced the completion of its cough-cold and skin care businesses to the British conglomerate, along with its foot care brand Odor-Eaters to personal care company Blistex.

    HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — DreamWorks' latest animated hit is coming to Blu-ray and DVD in a "mega" way.

    "Megamind," which features the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Jonah Hill and Brad Pitt, provides viewers with a funny twist on a superhero tale. When villain Megamind (Ferrell) defeats Metro Man (Pitt) and takes over Metro City, he finds that his biggest problem is a new villain (Hill) that threatens to bring chaos to the town.
