A new Kit Kat flavor is making waves this summer for a limited time.
The Churro flavor is new from the Hershey, Pa.-based company, which features a buttery churro-flavored creme with sugar mixed between wafers.
“We love seeing fan’s responses to our limited-edition Kit Kat flavors—especially one as universally loved as churros,” said Alex Herzog, associate Kit Kat brand manager. “We hope that every bite of the buttery, churro flavor and familiar crispy crunch of our wafers unlocks memories of the delightful experience of enjoying freshly baked churros from the boardwalk stand, amusement park, or the local fair.”
Consumers can find Kit Kat Churro available for purchase on June 6 in standard, king and snack sizes.
Nature Valley adds savory twist to Nut Crunch bars
Nature Valley is adding a savory twist to its Nut Crunch line of bars.
Available in three flavors — everything bagel, white cheddar and smoky BBQ — the Savory Nut Crunch line is a departure from its classic oats ‘n honey bars, the company said.
“Nature Valley is known for introducing the first mainstream granola bar to consumers, and since 1975 we’ve continued to innovate and find new ways to shake up the bars aisle,” said Ray Joncas, vice president and business unit director of bars at General Mills. “Snacking fans now have the best of both worlds with our new Savory Nut Crunch Bars as a companion to our traditional whole grain oat granola bars.”
Available in a grab-and-go convenience in a one-bar pack, it uses a proprietary binding process that removes the need for sugar binders to keep them intact, the company said.
“Our new technology has enabled us to solve a consumer need for convenient snacks that don't require the use of syrups and sugars to bind the bars together,” said Ali Shaikh, senior brand manager of bars innovation at General Mills. “This has unlocked an opportunity for us to craft Nature Valley snack bars with 2g of sugar in surprisingly savory flavors, delivering on a whole new set of cravings.”
Nature Valley Savory Nut Crunch bars are available for purchase at grocery stores nationwide in a 5-ct. box that retails for $4.79.

Cholula is expanding its portfolio beyond its Mexican hot sauces by introducing two new product launches—salsas and taco seasonings.
Made using many of the same ingredients as its hot sauce, each line of salsas and seasonings contains three varieties, including the classic original flavor.
“For three generations Cholula has served as the perfect staple to bring authentic, fresh Mexican flavor to any dish,” said Valda Coryat, North America vice president of marketing for McCormick. “We’re excited to expand beyond the sauce category and into the mainstream Mexican aisle to deliver that delicious flavor and balanced heat to passionate Cholula fans in new and exciting ways. Flavor runs in the Cholula family and our salsas and taco seasoning mixes are no exception to the motherload of mouthwatering taste we bring to each and every recipe.”
The salsa line includes Cholula Original Salsa, Salsa Verde and Smoky Chipotle. On the other hand, the taco seasoning line features Cholula Original Recipe Mix, Smoky Chipotle Recipe Mix and Chili Garlic Recipe Mix.
