Consumers encouraged to use Brillo, Estracell products during National Cleaning Week

3/10/2011

WALLED LAKE, Mich. — Brillo, the only brand of household cleaning products to feature Estracell, is emphasizing the use of its products during National Cleaning Week.

Last year, Brillo and Estracell united to offer consumers more effective household cleaning solutions. Estracell's material helps create a more sanitary line of sponge products and offers a range of simple yet effective cleaning solutions to pick up dirt and rinse it away, according to Armaly Brands, the maker of Brillo and Estracell.

"The majority of consumers would never consider using a big wad of paper towel, rinsing it out, letting it dry and then using it again because paper towels are meant to be used and thrown away," said Jeremy Bakken, spokesman for Armaly Brands. "But that's basically what a cellulose sponge is, a thick paper towel. Brillo Estracell sponges, however, offer a product similar in composition to a natural ocean sponge that stays softer, suds up faster and offers a more sanitary clean."

National Cleaning Week will be held from March 27 to April 2.
