CVS/pharmacy touts variety of gifts available for last-minute holiday shoppers

WOONSOCKET, R.I. With just over a week left before the holiday, CVS/pharmacy is promoting its selection of last-minute gifts, home decor and holiday specialty items.

According to a recent survey conducted by BIGResearch on behalf of the National Retail Federation, only about 8% of consumers had completed their holiday shopping. Furthermore, 1-out-of-5 had not even started their shopping.

With about 50% of the U.S. population living within two miles of a CVS location, shoppers can save time and money when shopping for last-minute holiday necessities.

In bath and beauty, CVS is offering such products as the new Essence of Beauty Tote Bag with body lotions and gels (valued at more than $80) for $14.99; the Essence of Beauty Hydro-Foot Spa (a $100 value) for $19.99; and the Sarah Peyton Wellness Hot/Cold Spa Set with a therapeutic neck wrap, eye mask, body bag and rest pillow for $14.99.

For those who love gizmos and gadgets, there’s the GPS Navigation System for Dummies, Coby and TDE Digital Photo Frames, Kodak EasyShare Cameras and iCraig MP3 players. There’s also Digital Recording Photo Frames for $6.99, Digital Phone Ornaments for $19.99 and Mr. Beer Premium Edition Home Beer Kits for $29.99.

For little ones there’s also a selection of toys including Remote Controlled Lo-Rider Cars for $9.99, Vivitar Refractor Telescopes for $14.99 and an array of Hannah Montana merchandise.

For personalized gifts, shoppers can create photo books in store for $5.99 or a Kodak Picture Movie DVD for $14.99. Both of these items can be created at the in-store photo kiosk and taken home the same day. In addition, more than 220 gift cards to such retailers as the Gap, Nordstrom, Barnes & Noble, iTunes, restaurants and spas are also available.
