Diplomat will dispense Merck’s Zepatier
FLINT, Mich. — Diplomat Pharmacy on Tuesday announced that it is now filling prescriptions for Merck’s hepatitis C treatment for genotype 1 or genotype 4 infections, Zepatier (elbasvir and grazoprevir). The Food and Drug Administration in January approved the drug to treat these two types of hepatitis C infection.
“We are excited to offer a therapy for patients with hepatitis C virus infection,” Diplomat president Gary Kadlec said. “Offering a highly effective option for a broad range of adult patients with chronic HCV genotype 1 or genotype 4 infection is a step forward in assisting our patients who otherwise would not receive treatment.”
