Former Walmart exec joins Ecoark board

4/27/2017

ROGERS, Ark. — Holding company Ecoark on Thursday announced the addition of two members to its board of directors. Joining the board is Steve Nelson, a former VP, controller of Dillard’s, and Susan Chambers, who retired from her position as Walmart’s chief human resources officer in July 2015.

Chambers has more than 30 years’ experience in the retail industry and has served as principal of Chambers Consulting since her retirement. At Walmart, prior to serving as chief human resources officer, she held various roles, including VP application development – merchandising and supply chain systems and SVP risk management, retirement and benefits.

Before she joined Walmart, Chambers was Hallmark Cards’ director of application development. She held roles of increasing responsibility in IT and finance during her 14 years at Hallmark. Chambers also sits on the USA Truck board of directors. She will co-chair Ecoark’s compensation committee.

“Susan Chambers has held key senior leadership positions in strategic operational roles, and combined with her service on the board of another public company provides the experience that will be instrumental to our Board,” Ecoark CEO Jay Puchir said. “Additionally, Steven Nelson’s history as the former controller of a public company uniquely qualifies him to give direction to Ecoark on general accounting and financial matters as well as areas in corporate governance and risk management that the company will now address.”
