Giant Eagle's Good Cents value grocer banner to close

PITTSBURGH — Following the exit of Bottom Dollar stores from the Allegheny region, Giant Eagle recently confirmed that it will be closing its eight Good Cents locations here, according to a report from WTAE's Action News 4 broadcast Thursday. 

 

“While our Good Cents locations initially gained popularity, numerous business and economic factors have made it difficult to continue to successfully deliver the shopping experience customers have come to expect from Good Cents,” stated Giant Eagle spokesman Dan Donovan.

 

Employees were notified earlier in the week that all of the locations would close by March 26, according to reports.
