HDMA to hold annual conference in London
ARLINGTON, Va. — The Healthcare Distribution Management Association announced Wednesday its Third Annual International Pharmaceutical Distribution Conference.
The conference will be held in London from Sept. 12 to 13 at the Grosvenor House and HDMA is co-hosting the event with the Healthcare Distribution Association UK (HDA UK), the European Healthcare Distribution Association (GIRP) and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Wholesalers (IFPW).
“Since hosting successful conferences in Beijing and Brussels, HDMA has continued to expand its educational programs to connect with our colleagues and trading partners on a global level, and inform them on the key business implications of globalization,” HDMA president and CEO John Gray said. “Accordingly, we are pleased to work collaboratively with our international counterparts … to help prepare our collective distributor members, as well as their manufacturer and retail partners, to work seamlessly as one truly global pharmaceutical supply chain.”
The conference will bring together executives involved in pharmaceutical distribution, supply chain and manufacturing for educational sessions about business practices and new strategies. It also aims to highlight opportunities for global trade partnerships.
Topics include:
Global pharmaceutical product traceability and medicines verification;
Such political and policy factors influencing distribution in Europe, the U.K. and United States as prescription drug abuse, disposal and antibiotic resistance;
Strategies to mitigate supply chain theft and security strategy;
Sharing good distribution practices;
Biosimilar regulation, launch and distribution insights;
How the global supply chain is affected by global trade agreementsn; and
Industry and financial analyst perspectives on the pharmaceutical supply chain.
