Price Chopper dedicates new headquarters
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. Price Chopper Supermarkets officially dedicated its new headquarters in downtown Schenectady, N.Y., last Wednesday, the supermarket chain said.
The ceremony included a flag raising by the Marines of the local recruiting office, the American Legion from Amsterdam, N.Y., and a singing of the national anthem by 12-year-old Arielle King, a student at a local middle school.
The 240,000-sq.-ft. building will have more than 725 employees who will support all of Price Chopper’s operations except distribution, which will continue to be handled at the company’s Rotterdam, N.Y., campus.
Built on a former industrial brownfield, the new building includes systems designed to save energy, promote water efficiency and reduce emissions while incorporating recycled materials.
