Walgreens challenges Coca Cola, Wrigley to get 'Seriously Silly'
DEERFIELD, Ill. - Walgreens' on Wednesday challenged fellow Chicago native Wrigley Co. and Atlanta's very own Coca Cola Co. to a "Red Nose Rumble." The two iconic brands were called to the comedy carpet to get "seriously silly" April 6 on their respective social media outlets in support of eliminating children's poverty.
Walgreens president Alex Gourlay and Richard Ashworth, Walgreens president pharmacy and retail operations, promised to raise more than $20 million in Red Nose sales this year in support of eliminating children's poverty, as they outlined their internal challenge to Walgreens employees and staff to get their silly on. "We're really engaging our team members to sell 15 million Red Noses and raise at least $20 million to help keep children out of poverty," Gourlay said.
"Next Wednesday, April 6, we're going to be watching social media to see just how 'seriously silly' all of you guys can get," Ashworth reported.
