Olika marries sanitizing benefits, essential oil fragrances

Olika, formerly known as Minnie and Birdie, is making major waves in the hand sanitizer category.

To do just that, the San Francisco-based company is debuting three refillable and recyclable forms of its signature hand sanitizer — with six essential oil fragrances.

“We listened to our customer base and went back to the drawing board with a mission to deliver innovation while marrying sustainability, clean efficacy and hydration in our next launch,” Alastair Dorward, CEO of Olika said. “Our obsession to do things differently drove us to recreate the mundane daily essentials and bring joy into the lives of consumers. We see Olika as the ultimate clean — now easy on the planet and easy on the pocketbook.”

Featuring simple and pure ingredients that are vegan, cruelty-free and gluten-free, as well as packaged in designs inspired by nature, the Hydrating Hand Sanitizer consists of:

  • Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Spray, which is made with natural aloe, glycerin, essential oils and 65% ethyl alcohol. Its formula looks to not only kill germs but also provide moisturization and more than 500 mists per package. A pack of three retails for $17.99 while individual one’s retail for $5.99;
  • Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Clip-On, which also contains the brand’s hydrating formula, but in a petite size that is ideal for those who are on-the-go. Providing more than 300 mists per package, a pack of three retails for $14.99, while an individual one retails for $4.99; and
  • Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Refill, which provides quick and easy refills for its sanitizers. A pack of three retails for $20.99, while each individual one retails for $7.99.

Circling back to the essential oil aspect of it all, the six aromatherapeutic scents available include — charcoal, fragrance-free, cucumber basil, lavender, mint citrus and orange blossom.

Olika’s Hydrating Hand Sanitizer Collection is available online at olikalife.com, as well as Amazon, Anthropologie, Macy’s Backstage, Earth Fare, Raley’s and Wegmans.
