Bio Logic Aqua Research brings dry eye mist to market
Bio Logic Aqua Research last week launched its Nature's Tears EyeMist solution for dry eye.
Bio Logic Aqua Research's dry eye solution consists of 100% pure tissue culture grade water. This water is pH-balanced and biocompatible with the water content of the natural tear film. This dry eye solution’s patented micron-size mist, applied with a personal, portable hand-held humidifier, instantly rehydrates the tear film while also moisturizing the skin of the eyelids and the skin around the eyes.
And the dry eye solution Nature’s Tears EyeMist is safe for infants suffering from dry eye disease and it does not cause eye make-up to "run."
Many people suffering from dry eye disease use eye drops, most of them saline solutions, for relief, noted Sharon Kleyne, director research at Bio-Logic Aqua Research, which operates out of Grants Pass, Ore. "But dry eye disease is tougher than eye drops. Eye drops do not supplement or replenish moisture that has been lost to evaporation as a result of dry eye disease. Dry eye disease will continue until the eye’s moisture is replenished with sterile water. Without sterile water, dry eye disease symptoms just grow worse," Kleyne said.
Dry eye disease afflicts 30 million in the U.S. The eye’s tear film is naturally 99% water, yet when it over-evaporates, dry eye symptoms occur. These symptoms include burning, itching, swelling, redness, headaches and blurred vision.
