Dapple personal care products hit Walmart shelves

Dapple’s plant-based products for babies are now available to a wide range of consumers.

The Cincinnati-based company launched its line of personal care products in Walmart’s health and beauty department.

Adhering to plant-based methodology while also providing moisturization, shoppers can expect to find such offerings as shampoo + body wash, baby lotion and more on the retailer’s shelves.

"Leading baby care products are largely petroleum-based, yet the effectiveness of alternative products was underwhelming," John Pearson, Dapple's chief executive officer said. "Today's parents don't have to choose between a product that's plant-based and one that actually works; our products are plant-based and as pure as possible, with no brighteners, dyes, artificial fragrances or fillers. The personal care line provides 48 hours of moisturization, much longer than other brands."

In addition, the brand’s products also incorporate prebiotics to help restore and rebalance baby’s natural skin barrier, and are non-toxic, tear-free, hypoallergenic and pediatrician and dermatologist tested, the company said.

"Everyone knows by now how positive probiotics are; prebiotics are what probiotics absorb to prosper and reproduce. Prebiotics help encourage more varied types of bacteria too, and variety is paramount for thriving skin," Pearson said. "Our lotion is a testament to how powerful these tiny organisms are, providing an unprecedented two days' worth of moisturization as a result."
