CareMore Health Plan to use computer application to manage members’ illnesses

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. A healthcare payer has begun using a computer application to help manage members’ acute and chronic illnesses.

TriZetto Group said Monday that CareMore Health Plan had begun using TriZetto’s Clinical CareAdvance software, bringing the total number of people covered on TriZetto’s care management system to more than 30 million.

CareMore provides Medicare Advantage health plans to 32,000 elderly people, mostly in California, while TriZetto provides software and information technology services for the convergence of benefits administration, care management and constituent engagement.

“In using TriZetto’s system, we’ll further improve the uniformity and quality of care we provide our members,” CareMore president Leeba Lessin said. “Early identification, coordination, intervention and member involvement are critical in an aging population.”
