FDA approves Aurobindo’s Micardis generic

DAYTON, N.J. — Aurobindo Pharma announced Friday that the Food and Drug Administration had approved its generic version of Boehringer Ingelheim’s Micardis (telmisartan) tablets. The company’s telmisartan will be available in 20-, 40- and 80-mg tablets and is indicated to treat hypertension. 

IMS Health reports that the drug had U.S. sales about about $92.2 million for the 12 months ending in July.
