FDA approves epilepsy treatment generic
ROCKVILLE, Md. The Food and Drug Administration has approved Silarx’s generic version of UCB’s Keppra, agency records show.
The FDA approved the company’s levetiracetam solution in the 100-mg-per-milliliter strength. The drug is used to treat epilepsy.
Keppra had sales of $1.3 billion in 2007, according to UCB financial data. The Belgian drug maker announced a new, 750 mg formulation of Keppra XR earlier this month.
