FDA approves Mylan treatment for hypertension
PITTSBURGH The Food and Drug Administration has granted tentative approval to Mylan for its generic version of Daiichi Sankyo’s hypertension drug Benicar, Mylan announced Wednesday.
The drug, olmesartan medoxomil and hydrochlorothiazide tablets, will be available in dosages of 20 mg/12.5 mg, 40 mg/12.5 mg and 40 mg/25 mg.
Mylan filed the application last Feburary and said it is probably the first company to file a complete application for a generic version of Daiichi Sankyo’s drug.
