Flavell tapped as first president of First DataBank International

EXETER, U.K. The international division of drug database provider First DataBank has a new president.

The company announced July 14 that it had appointed David Flavell as First DataBank International’s president, a position it recently created. He has served as managing director of First DataBank Europe since 2002.

Flavell will be responsible for First DataBank’s operations outside North America, in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

“I am delighted that David Flavell has agreed to assume his new role,” First DataBank president Don Nielsen said. “David has demonstrated tremendous leadership as the managing director of First DataBank Europe by placing a strong emphasis on the development and implementation of drug knowledge databases that are directly applied to improving the safety and quality of care for patients.”

The company is a subsidiary of Hearst.
