HERTFORDSHIRE, England and PITTSBURGH — Mylan announced Monday that it had launched its generic version of Pfizer’s Unasyn (ampicillin and subactam) injection. The drug will be available in 1.5- and 3-g vials, as well as a 15-g pharmacy bulk package.
Mylan’s generic, which was recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration, is indicated to gynecological infections, intra-abdominal infections and infections caused by susceptible strains of microorganisms in skin and skin structure infections.
The drug had $29 million in sales in the 12 months ending June 30, according to IMs health.
