ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The National Community Pharmacy Association has announced the three pharmacy student teams that are finalists for its Good Neighbor Pharmacy NCPA Pruitt-Schutte Student Business Plan Competition finalists. The competition is aimed at motivating pharmacy students to develop a business model for either purchasing an existing community pharmacy or opening a new one.
The three finalists will present their business plans at the NCPA’s annual convention in October. The finalists are teams from the South Carolina College of Pharmacy, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Pharmacy and the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy. The first place winner will receive $3,000 donated to its NCPA student chapter and a $3,000 to the school in the dean’s name. The second place team receives $2,000 for its student chapter and $2,000 for the school, and the third place team receives $1,000 for the student chapter and school.
“We are blown away by the quality and quantity of the student business plan entries once again this year,” NCPA President John T. Sherrer said. “Congratulations to the three finalist teams and best of luck as they finalize their presentations for the live competition in October. I also want to congratulate all of the students on their impressive and comprehensive business plans.”
The three finalists were chosen from a crop of 10, which also included teams from:
