Oregon Rx Card offers discounts on branded, generic drugs
SALEM, Ore. The free prescription drug cards offered in many states are now available in Oregon.
The Oregon Rx Card, which launched Thursday, is available to all residents of the state and provides discounts on branded and generic drugs. The card is accepted at more than 50,000 national and regional chain retail pharmacies across the country.
“This program is going to be an important tool to help the residents of Oregon offset rising healthcare costs,” program director Andrew Stocks said. “This program couldn’t have come at a better time as the economy continues to leave more people without jobs and benefits.”
Sponsorship for the prescription cards comes mostly from United Networks of America, a company that provides value-added managed care products and services.
