Pfizer appoints VP medical affairs for oncology business unit
NEW YORK Pfizer has appointed a new VP medical affairs to its oncology business unit, the drug maker has announced.
The company gave the position to Martine George, who most recently had the position of SVP drug development and chief medical officer at GPC Biotech and has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 20 years.
“We are delighted that Dr. George, with her impressive record as a leader in global pharmaceutical organizations, will be joining Pfizer’s Oncology Business Unit and look forward to her contributions in advancing science needed to bring innovative medicines to patients,” Pfizer Oncology Business Unit SVP clinical development and medical affairs Mace Rothenberg said.
George has previously worked for Johnson & Johnson, Sanofi-Aventis, Sandoz and other companies. Before working in the pharmaceutical industry, she taught at Institute Gustave Roussy in Villejuif, France.
