LUBBOCK, Texas — The United Family chain of supermarkets on Wednesday announced an expansion of its pharmacy services with the launch of Pet Meds at its 57 pharmacy locations.
The Texas-based grocer chain’s new program allows customers to fill prescriptions for their four-legged friends in-store and online. Customers can pick up their pet medications in-store with their own prescriptions, or have them shipped to their home with standard shipping of three to five days. All that is needed is a veterinarian prescription.
The program will offer competitive prices on common pet prescriptions, including Advantage, Heartgard and Revolution, according to the company.
“Our guests rely on our pharmacies to fill their prescription needs, and we are thrilled to
now be a one-stop shop for guests’ pets as well,” said Tim Purser, director of pharmacy for The United Family.
Pet Meds is available at each store banner of The United Family, including United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and Albertsons Market.
