Rite Aid today unveiled the "new Rite Aid," a small but nimble, bicoastal regional chain that executives told the 36th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference on Wednesday will have the same buying power over the next 10 years of its one-time suitor Walgreens Boots Alliance.

As good as Walgreens performed behind the back bench this past quarter, the company’s continued focus on enhancing its beauty offerings is expected to lead improvements across the front-end as Walgreens plans to amalgamate the many store format pilots it has been testing into one of many yet-to-be-identified stores.

Rite Aid Wednesday evening outlined the number of tools the company has on hand in the delivery of low-cost, high-cost health and wellness services as it enters a new era featuring a tighter network of stores and a broad selection of diverse health services.

In this season of giving, the Rite Aid Foundation is awarding a total of $2.2 million to its partner charities through its KidCents Holiday Wishes program. Created to recognize the year-round efforts of each organization, each of the more than 440 charities currently participating in The Rite Aid Foundation's KidCents program will receive a $5,000 grant to help make a holiday wish of their choice come true.

The Rite Aid Foundation announced Wednesday a $100,000 donation to the American Red Cross to help the victims, families and communities in Southern California affected by the wildfires.  

Health Dialog announced Tuesday that it has received Patient Oriented Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for its disease management programs for asthma, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary heart disease and diabetes.
