Skippy launches new peanut butter product lines

6/4/2020

New additions are coming to the Skippy peanut butter family.

The Austin, Minn.-based company is adding products that contain protein and no added sugar, and come in squeezable packaging as well.

“We know consumers are looking for new ways to enjoy the peanut butter they love while still delivering on taste and product benefits,” Jennesa Kinscher, the Skippy brand manager said. “We are thrilled to bring the first mainstream squeeze peanut butter and squeeze natural peanut butter spread to the category. It has already become a staple in our home for easy snacking, without the mess!”

Products consumers should be on the lookout for include:

  • Squeeze Peanut Butter and Peanut Butter Spreads, which will be available in two varieties — Squeeze Creamy Peanut Butter and Squeeze Natural Creamy Peanut Butter Spread. Packaged in a 6-oz. squeeze pouch, the products are made with the brand’s signature peanut butter;
  • No Added Sugar Peanut Butter Spreads, which are available in creamy and chunky varieties, come in 16-oz. jars and are made with just three ingredients — peanuts, palm oil and salt; and
  • Added Protein Peanut Butter, which also comes in creamy and chunky options, and is blended with plant-based protein. It contains a total of 10 g of plant-based protein per serving and comes in 14-oz. squat jars.

“In addition to these three new innovative products, we're equally as excited about their unique packaging,” Kinscher said. “With Skippy Squeeze and Skippy Added Protein, we're providing consumers a cleaner and easier way to spread the Skippy peanut butter and peanut butter spreads they love. The convenient, mess-free top of Skippy Squeeze and the wide, squat jar of Skippy Added Protein help us address the dreaded ‘peanut butter knuckles’.”

Shoppers can currently find Skippy’s Peanut Butter Blended with Plant-Based Protein at select retailers nationwide. The Squeeze Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Spreads and No Sugar Added Peanut Butter Spreads will hit shelves in late June.
