The Swanson Group restructures, adds 2 executives

The Swanson Group has restructured in an effort the company said is aimed at better serving its clients and retailers. The Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based company this week announced various promotions and changes to its team, promoting three of its own and adding two new executives. 

From the existing Swanson Group team, Scott Lutz has been named senior vice president of sales, Chris Ferdock has been promoted to senior vice president of business development and Tom Morrell has moved up to the role of senior vice president of national accounts. 

Additionally, Ron Chomiuk is joining the company as senior vice president of retail strategy and Justin Kalber has joined as director of business development. 

Chomiuk brings more than 40 years of experience in retail and health care to his new role. He previously held senior leadership positions with Walmart across pharmacy and health and wellness over the course of 10 years with the retailer, during which he also was honored with the Sam Walton Entrepreneur Award for Leadership for his role in launching the company’s $4 generic prescription program. After leaving Walmart, Chomiuk joined Teradata as senior industry consultant. He also has held senior leadership roles with Kmart. Chomiuk started his career with Perry Drug, and previously has been a member of the NACDS Board of Directors and the Michigan Board of Pharmacy. 

Kalber joins the Swanson Group from Topco, where he was senior category manager/GM lead, overseeing the company’s general merchandise division in category management, sourcing, product development and vendor management. Before Topco, Kalber worked with Walgreens’ global insights and analytics division, as well as in several category management positions across diabetes, feminine hygiene, family planning and smoking cessation. 

The Swanson Group also has expanded the responsibilities of Pat Randazzo, program director/client services, and added new associates to manage the company’s expanding supply chain and operational functions. Before joining the Swanson Group, Randazzo spent 26 yearas with Walgreens.
