Winn-Dixie, Ochsner Health kick off donation program

Winn-Dixie is looking to help those who are currently undergoing cancer treatments via a new community donation program.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based retailer announced that it would be teaming up with Ochsner Health through Oct. 27 in its Louisiana stores.

Those interested in donating to the cause can do so by rounding up to the nearest dollar on their grocery bill when at checkout.

“At Winn-Dixie, we make it a priority to invest in the matters that are important to the communities we serve,” Joey Medina, regional vice president for Winn-Dixie, said. “We are proud to partner with like-minded organizations such as Ochsner in support of our brave neighbors battling cancer. It takes a village to serve and heal people, and Winn-Dixie is honored to be a part of that community.”

Through this initiative, the retailer will provide funds that will aid who need treatment, as well as present a check to Ochsner at its annual Moonlight & Miracles Gala, which will be held virtually this year.
