2020 NACDS Total Store Expo will not be held

The National Association of Chain Drug Stores will not be holding its 2020 Total Store Expo, slated for Aug. 8 to 10 at the San Diego Convention Center. According to NACDS officials, the convention center has closed for events until September, rendering NACDS unable to hold the trade show.

“As has been the case throughout NACDS’ history, and certainly now during this pandemic, an unwavering member focus defines NACDS. Consistent with that focus, NACDS continuously evaluated the prospect of presenting the TSE that lives up to member expectations," NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson said. "Paramount to any decision was the health and safety of attendees. At the same time the very ability to hold TSE in San Diego was a dynamic that we had to monitor carefully. Well-being and practicality have been the subject of a multitude of conversations with appropriate officials."

Anderson said that due to the circumstances, NACDS would be refunding members 100% of funds paid to NACDS in connection with the Total Store Expo. "NACDS holds itself to the highest standards of informing and serving its members, and this situation, though challenging and disappointing, is no exception," Anderson said.

Looking forward, Anderson said that the NACDS is turning its attention to the 2021 NACDS Total Store Expo, which will be held Aug. 21 to 23 in Denver, with the organization already planning for the return of NACDS Annual Meeting, set for April 24 to 27, 2021 at the Breakers in Palm Beach, Fla.

"As always, please know that your strong engagement and support of NACDS remains truly appreciated," Anderson said. "We remain committed to working alongside you for the ultimate good of the patients, consumers, team members, communities, and nation we all serve."
