Albertsons’ Nourishing Neighbors receives 100K meal donation from Uber
Albertsons’ Nourishing Neighbors program, which is looking to help families in need this Thanksgiving, just received a sizeable donation from Uber.
The retailer announced that the transportation service provider donated 100,000 meals to the initiative, which will be distributed throughout Albertsons Foundation and provided to local charities that will fund healthy meals for children and families in need during the holiday season.

This donation comes on the heels of the retailer previously announcing that it had expanded delivery for its banners, including Albertsons, Safeway, Jewel-Osco and Acme through a partnership with Uber Eats.
“At Uber, we’re dedicated to supporting communities and we’re honored to work with our partner, Albertsons Companies, and their Nourishing Neighbors program to help feed families in need this holiday season,” Oskar Hjertonsson, head of grocery at Uber said. “We hope that with this small gift, by bringing Uber grocery to more of the U.S., and by adding new aisles of seasonal must-haves, we’re able to help everyone get what they need this Thanksgiving.”
