AllianceRx Walgreens Prime names new COO

Specialty and home delivery pharmacy AllianceRx Walgreens Prime has named Clayton Edwards COO. Edwards, a licensed pharmacist, joins the company from Dayton, Ohio-based CareSource Management Group, where he was senior vice president of pharmacy. 

Edwards brings with him more than 25 years of experience in pharmacy, pharma, provider and pharmacy benefit areas. He has particular experience in decreasing operations costs, increasing efficiency, creating operational readiness for new initiatives and a focus on overall financial performance, AllianceRx Walgreens Prime said. 

“Clayton’s experience as a strategic and visionary COO with deep expertise linking people, process and systems to improve clinical outcomes and accelerate growth makes him a great addition to our organization,” said Joel Wright, CEO of AllianceRx Walgreens Prime. “Clayton’s operations experience will help strengthen our processes and position us for continued growth.”

Edwards received his Master of Business Administration in Health Administration and Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, N.Y. He will be based in Orlando, Fla., with the rest of the company’s executive team.
