AmerisourceBergen’s Mauch to chair HDA board
The Healthcare Distribution Alliance today announced the election of Robert Mauch, executive vice president and group president of AmerisourceBergen, as chairman of the HDA board of directors. Chad Gielen, president and CEO of Louisiana Wholesale Drug will serve as vice chairman.
Mauch, who served as HDA vice chairman for two years, assumes board leadership from Greg Drew, president of Value Drug. Drew will remain a member of the HDA executive committee, which executes HDA’s strategic priorities on behalf of the organization’s board of directors.
“While this has been an unprecedented year, I continue to be amazed and humbled by the work, dedication and perseverance of our healthcare distribution industry to serve patients, protect the supply chain and efficiently deliver essential, lifesaving products every day — even in the most challenging of times,” said Mauch. “I am proud to take on this new role with the understanding that partnership, collaboration and the ability of our industry to innovate will ultimately have the greatest impact on both patients and the healthcare ecosystem.”
“I am proud to continue to lend my voice and perspective during a critical time for HDA and the distribution industry, while helping to guide the continued growth of this association,” said Gielen. He has served as a member of the board of directors for five years, with two of those years on the executive committee.
“I want to welcome Bob and Chad into their new roles, while thanking Greg for his leadership, guidance and service to the pharmaceutical distribution industry during a pivotal time,” said HDA president and CEO Chester “Chip” Davis. “As we continue the work of communicating the value distributors provide to the overall healthcare ecosystem, I look forward to working in concert with our Executive Committee and board of directors to ensure HDA is effectively serving its membership, both today and in the future.”
