Amneal launches generic Prolixin

Patients with schizophrenia have a new generic treatment option. Following approval by the Food and Drug Administration, Amneal is introducing fluphenazine hydrochloride tablets in dosage strengths of 1 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg.

The product is the generic of Apothecon Pharmaceuticals’ Prolixin.

Amneal has initiated commercialization activities for all dosages.

Fluphenazine hydrochloride tablets had a market value of roughly $143 million for the 12 months ended May 2020, according to IQVIA.
