APhA Foundation names 2022 scholarship recipients

Twenty-four student pharmacists received the honor based on their academic accomplishments and leadership skills as demonstrated by their active involvement in the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists.

The American Pharmacists Association Foundation has announced the APhA Foundation Student Scholarship Program recipients for 2022.

This year 24 student pharmacists received the honor based on their academic accomplishments and leadership skills, as demonstrated by their active involvement in the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists, the organization said.

“The APhA Foundation Scholarship recipients represent the future leaders of the pharmacy profession,” APhA Foundation executive director Mitchel Rothholz said. “We salute their hard work and ambition to contribute their talents to improve health outcomes for those in the communities they will serve. We are pleased to offer these scholarships to support their professional development.”

The 2022 APhA Foundation Student Scholarship Program recipients are:

  • Mark Samy Zaki Abdelmalek: Temple University School of Pharmacy, Pharmacists Mutual Community Pharmacy;
  • Jacqueline Azodoh: Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Pharmacists Mutual Community Pharmacy;
  • Anastasia Borodai: University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Natalie Certo Scholarship;
  • Izzabella Christian: University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, Tery Baskin Scholarship
  • Sneha Cyriac: Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Gloria Francke Scholarship;
  • Andrew Ejiofor: Hampton University School of Pharmacy, George F. Archambault Scholarship;
  • Anna Eskender: Ohio Northern University, Mary Munson Runge Scholarship;
  • Heather L. Garr: Binghamton University School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences,  Theodore G. Tong Scholarship;
  • Sung Jin (Julie) Jeong:  University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, Boyle Family Scholarship;
  • Allyson Kerr: Campbell University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, Paul Pumpian Scholarship;
  • Kalina Korzec: Northeastern University School of Pharmacy, Juan and Esperanza Luna Scholarship
  • Zach Krauss: Cedarville University, Charles C. Thomas Scholarship;
  • Miao Lai: University of Utah College of Pharmacy,  APhA Foundation Scholarship;
  • Kayla K. Leland: Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacists Mutual Community Pharmacy;
  • Shirly Ly: University of Florida College of Pharmacy, Hamilton, Harris, And Tucker APhA-ASP Chapter President Scholarship;
  • Natalie Mausey: Union University College of Pharmacy, Sam Kalman Scholarship;
  • Kristin Meyer: University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, Menighan Leadership Scholarship;
  • Alex Shayan Shantiai: Palm Beach Atlantic University, Pharmacists Mutual Community Pharmacy;
