APhA names Shannon Morrison CFO

The American Pharmacists Association announced today that Shannon Morrison has been named chief financial officer, effective March 1, 2021. Morrison succeeds Joe Janela, who had previously announced his retirement as chief financial officer after 11 years of service to APhA.

Morrison will be responsible for all aspects of the financial affairs of APhA and the APhA Foundation, including banking, investment programs, financial management, budgeting, long-range planning and forecasting, financial analysis, and internal control systems. She also will have responsibility for the fiscal and operational oversight of the Association’s office building and related office lease operations, as well as APhA’s Administrative Services and Information Technology departments.

Most recently, Morrison was associate vice president of finance for APhA, having joined the organization in 2008 as assistant controller. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, and a graduate of Salisbury University in Salisbury, Md.
