Bartell Drugs’ 'Stock the Shelves' Food Drive to benefit Food Lifeline
Bartell’s is stepping up to the plate to help feed people who are impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. During the month of June, Bartell’s will be collecting non-perishable food items to support a local organization, Food Lifeline, that partners with 300 foodbanks, shelters and meal programs in the 17 counties of Western Washington. With many factors affecting their supply, Food Lifeline is in need of additional resources in order to help as many people in Western Washington as possible.
“The economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has more than doubled the number of food insecure people in our community and we know it will be many months before this need begins to subside” said Ryan Scott, Food Lifeline chief development officer. “We’ve had to significantly expand our efforts to support our community. This partnership with Bartell’s is incredibly important and very timely.”
The Food Lifeline organization provides, on average, 45% of the food that the agency partners receive. All donations will remain local and support individuals and families in the Puget Sound.
Donations will be collected at all neighborhood Bartell’s locations. Information regarding the donation drive can be found here.
