Benzer Pharmacy has inked a deal with QualityCare Pharmacies, adding its nearly 800 members to its group purchasing organization. The member pharmacies now are eligible to receive prescription drug pricing and value-based care support services that Benzer offers through its Benzer Pharmacy Group Healthcare program hub.
“We are thrilled that QualityCare Pharmacies has joined our GPO model,” Tonya Shackelford, Benzer Pharmacy president, said. “QualityCare members will benefit from the comprehensive healthcare program and preferred pricing and pharmacy management model driven through Benzer. Not to mention, Benzer offers a pharmacy support program aimed at transitioning population health across its member base into remuneration for every member affiliate.”
QualityCare Pharmacies executive director Lanny Doud said that the company chose Benzer to help its members grow their pharmacy business because of its track record with its own stores.
“It’s a difficult climate for independent pharmacy, we needed options for our members and Benzer offers that,” Doud said. “They have built their pharmacy operations and support infrastructure around value-based care, this is a model our members need in order to increase patient traffic, win preferred employer and insurer contracts and enhance the value-added patient services expected by our members.”
Both companies noted the role of AshHEALTH, which Benzer recently selected to lead its national GPO and pharmacy acquisition strategy and was founded by Ashton Maaraba.
