BJ’s Wholesale Club announced that a $10,000 donation from its charitable arm, BJ’s Charitable Foundation, has been made to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast.

The donation will help the organization’s holiday party for more than 90 children and also will provide supplies for the club and its participants, the company said.

“BJ’s is committed to providing basic essentials to the families and children in our local communities,” Kirk Saville, the executive director of BJ’s Charitable Foundation, said. “We’re thrilled to help this incredible organization continue to provide a safe place for the children of Pensacola to learn and grow.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, or BGCEC, for the past 50 years has provided safe and positive environments for youth between the ages of 5 to 18 years old during out-of-school time.

In addition to providing youths with recognized programs that address pressing issues of the demographic, the organization also teaches young people the skills they need to succeed in life, the company said.

“Here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, we believe in helping all children meet their full potential as caring, responsible citizens — especially those that truly need us the most. It is important that our partners share and support this belief,” Shervin Rassa, the chief executive officer at Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast, said. “That is why we are grateful to BJ’s for prioritizing the young people of the Emerald Coast and providing this generous donation to help us serve our community.”
