BJ’s Wholesale Club announces executive leadership appointments

Rachael Vegas has been appointed EVP, chief merchandising officer; Tim Morningstar is the new EVP, chief membership officer; and Monica Schwartz will be EVP, chief digital officer.

BJ’s Wholesale is sharing news of several executive leadership appointments.

First off, the warehouse club retailer announced that Rachael Vegas would be taking over as the new executive vice president, chief merchandising officer, effective Oct. 25.

Vegas will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the merchandising and assortment planning and allocation functions, reporting to executive vice president, chief commercial officer Paul Cichocki.

Her diverse background and deep experience in retail and grocery will be influential as we continue to build on our momentum and advance our strategic priorities.”

Prior to joining BJ’s Wholesale Club, Vegas served as the senior vice president, e-commerce merchandising at H-E-B. Prior to that, she held various leadership positions at Brandless, Target and Delhaize Group.

The company also announced that Tim Morningstar will be taking over as executive vice president, chief membership officer, effective Oct. 25.

Morningstar joined the company in 2020 as senior vice president, membership acquisition and loyalty. Prior to joining BJ’s Wholesale Club, he served as a partner at the Boston office of Bain & Co.

Monica Schwartz will be assuming the role of executive vice president, chief digital officer, effective Oct. 25.

Schwartz, who joined the company in 2020 as senior vice president, chief digital officer, will be reporting directly to BJ’s president and chief executive officer, Bob Eddy.
